Bio

I'm a passionate researcher with expertise in recombinant technology, protein engineering and biocatalysis. Currently I am a senior research fellow under the supervision of Dr. Tanmay Dutta at the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Prior to that, I honed my research skills at Centre of Nutrition, Research and training (CNRT), Indian Council of Medical Research-Delhi (ICMR), where I held a position of Research Assistant. I earned my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry at the University of Delhi.

My current research work focusses on heterologous expression of oxidoreductase from extremophilic bacteria. Studying their catalytic efficiencies towards dye degradation as a sustainable alternative is one of the aspects of my study. Additionally, I am also exploring the bio- electrocatalytic properties of the oxidoreductases towards oxygen and CO 2 reduction reactions. This work involves, heterologous expression, side directed mutagenesis for protein engineering, docking studies of enzyme and substrate and fabrication of bioelectrode. I am also exploring the fascinating realm of enzyme mimics and investigation their enzymatic nature and electro-catalytical activity for clean energy applications.
